you guessed it, Dragon-Type moves.If you can't take the heat, stay away from the Flame Dragon! This temperamental creature is easily set off but calms down just as fast. Additionally, the Dragon Fang you get to keep powers up. Furthermore, she gives you TM24 (Dragonbreath). Now, all Pokemon will obey you, regardless of level, and you can use Waterfall outside of battle. When you bring it back to her, Clair lets you keep it (why did she need it, then?), and also gives you the Rising Badge. Additionally, you can come back later to catch a Dratini, the precursor to Dragonair and Dragonite, which would give your team a real edge in battles for the rest of the game. Fortunately, it's not too hard to get Surf over to the cave mouth behind the gym, enter the Dragon Cave and use Whirlpool to get to the item ball in the east end of the area. She insists that you bring her the Dragon Fang before she gives you your prizes. However, even in defeat, Clair whines that your victory was a fluke and that you're undeserving of the Rising Badge. Adding insult to injury, after you go through all that, With a strong Ice-Type Pokemon, Clair won't be too hard to handle. You will need to push boulders through pits much like you did in the Ice Path to make it though this gym.

Getting though this gym will be a trial, not only because of the battles, but also the sliding-floor stone-shoving puzzle you need to traverse (make sure one of your Pokemon has Strength). Now is the time to bring out Jynx and that Lapras you caught in Union Cave. The gym leader here has a thing for Dragon-type Pokemon, but since you just emerged from a cave full of Ice-types, you should have no problem teaching her a thing or two about Type advantages.
